Matisse - a treat

When a man is tired of Matisse, he is tired of life.  I would not put Matisse as strong as Samuel Johnson continued about London "Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford." but there is something so good for morale in Matisse's late work.  Even as a postcard . . . even as a postage stamp.  The NYT has a wonderful and informative panorama graphic of the soon-to-close exhibition of Matisse's cut-outs at NYC's MoMA.  I've included a snippet above. via Kottke.
